Coach Kelvin D. Blackshear Sr., 2018 Head Football Coach at Twiggs County High School.  Coach Blackshear’s vast background of coaching ranges from middle school to collegiate level. Throughout his career, Coach Blackshear Sr. has received much insight under the leadership of Coach Deiondri Clark (Former FVSU Head Coach & Athletic Director), Dexter Copeland (Macon County High School), Ryan Branch and Clifford Fedd Jr. (Former Berrian High School Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator), Marcus Jelks (Former Lithonia High School Head Coach) and Deante Lamar (Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. High School). He has gained experience being a Head Coach on the middle school level, Head Coach on the Junior Varsity level, Co-Offensive/Assistant Head Coach on the Varsity level and a Graduate Assistant on the collegiate level.  He has a total of 10 years coaching with two playoff appearances on the middle school level, and two appearances in the Georgia State High School Playoffs. At Lithonia High School, they were fortunate enough to help 38 players earn scholarships to different colleges while he was on staff.


Coach Blackshear currently holds an Educational Specialist Degree in Curriculum Instruction from Cambridge College, Masters in Special Education from Kaplan University and a Bachelors in Psychology from The Fort Valley State University. He is currently in his 9th year of teaching and inspiring students to go beyond their own potential.


Coach Blackshear’s mission is to develop men of character and integrity within a culture of greatness.  He and his incredible wife Maurissa have  4 beautiful children: Kelvin II, Jalen , Makayla and Maurice.
